About Christina

Hello! I have been tutoring since high school. I graduated with distinction from California Lutheran University with a B.A. in Communications and an Emphasis in Journalism in 2008. English, Literature, Social Studies, Humanities are my expertise. Projects and things of that nature I enjoy working on the most. K-8 I can tutor in any subject and High School and College would be any subject that language arts was the main component.
As a dance teacher I realize the importance of choosing the teaching method that works best for the students. Not every child grasps a concept the same way and my intention is to teach to how the child learns.
I am proficient in all Microsoft office applications and know how to use adobe photoshop, premier and final cut pro.

More On Christina's Subjects

elementary (k-6th)

Dear Students, I would love to tutor in K-6 education. As a student in those years I passed with flying colors. My grades with straight A's and I was always a member of the Honor Roll or Principals List. My first tutoring job was homework help for a family. I tutored their son in elementary and middle school. Initially is was just for math, but once his grades went from a D to a B in math, they asked me to stay on and help in his other subjects. My tutoring experience is also that of group tutoring at my local church for elementary students. Assisting in math homework to social studies projects, I helped K-6th graders with any and every subject. Finally as a personal assistant in college, I tutored a family's young boy from 2nd to 4th grade in all of his subjects. Addition to memorizing cities and states I help with his studies and made school fun.

public speaking

I would love to tutor Public Speaking. A Communications B.A. degree requires that I have hours of communication designed college classes. My particular course studies include Business and Professional Communications, Interpersonal Communications between men and women and Broadcasting Communications. These classes required countless public speaking presentations, reporting for my college TV show and writing and editing for my college student newspaper. All of these activities require communication with a mass audience in a professional setting. Alongside collegiate studies, my real world work experience has been based on public speaking. For over the past year, I have worked with Radio Disney AM 1580 Phoenix in the promotions and marketing department. The job requires that I host on site events for Radio Disney. During the shows I am on the microphone engaging with an audience. Not only do I have to be a strong presence, certain skills are required so that I am entertaining, informative and most importantly fun. Some of my most noted hosting duties include, Boo at the Zoo, Tree Lighting Ceremonies, Disney Story Grand Openings and Safety Smart Super Challenge school shows. Public Speaking is an art form and there are certain techniques I have mastered which make it not only captivating for an audience, but fun for the speaker.
