A certificated Special Education Teacher, I have over 20 years teaching experience with children ages birth through 14. In addition to a California Multiple Subject Credential, I have a Specialists Credential (Severely Handicapped), and a Resource Specialist Certificate. I received a Master's Degree "Teachers of Autistic and Emotionally Disturbed Children" from New York University.

My extensive experience in Early Intervention has included work with children on the autistic spectrum and their families, utilizing a developmental, play-based, Floortime approach. I have also worked extensively with children with learning disabilities as a public school special education Resource Specialist-- helping students access grade level curriculum by focussing on their strengths and particular learning styles. Recognizing and determining learning styles in students helps greatly with the more typical students, as well.

My other passion is theater and music! With a BA in Drama/Music from Cal State Sacramento, I am trained singer and actor, I am a member of the performing unions and have many years experience in both professional and community theater. I am available for tutoring after school and during the day for younger children. Weekends are also a possibility.
