I received my BA degree in Psychology and Philosophy from Boston College. I also completed my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. Upon graduating from my Masters program, I began to work in Community Mental Health Center. I have been working in the social service field for over 13 years. My experience has been primarily working with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds and educational capabilities. I am familiar with the development and implementation of IEPs. I can help students focus on the skills necessary to achieve goals on their IEPs. For students that do not have IEPs, we can focus on identifying areas of difficulties and create a plan to achieve the academic success they desire. I have helped many students improve their study skills and helped them develop effective tools to succeed with their academics. I am available to tutor K-12 as well as adults. Math, Spanish, Career Development and Life Skills are subjects of special interest to me.
I have a flexible teaching style that incorporates the individual needs of each of my students. It is important to me that students actively participate in the development of our tutoring goals. Successful outcomes are possible due to the dedication and commitment of the students. I have tutored students in their homes and in their communities. Tutoring offers students the opportunity to receive individualized instruction that is not always readily available in their school environment. Students are able to relax and let go of the pressures that may be present in a classroom setting.

PSAT

I have experience with helping students develop effective test taking skills. The PSAT will test a student on their critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills, and writing skills. I can help you focus on these areas to fully maximize your potential score. Success on the PSAT requires knowledge of the material as well as comfort and knowledge of the test itself.
