David W. - Tutor in Lynchburg, VA (24502)

I am currently a graduate student in counseling at a university in Virginia. I'll get my Master's degree next spring. Currently I serve as a graduate assistant and work grading papers and sometimes leading small groups. I intern working with college students helping deal with many issues in relationships and personal challenges. I also intern at a drug rehab site and may apply for work in that field after I graduate. I am an excellent student with an A average in courses and have worked tutoring junior high students in math and English. I have also taught a little in church and with men's groups. My teaching style I would describe as interactive because I believe that the best learning has to engage students and not just lecture them. Things are best learned hands on with dialogue. I have a desire to teach someday at the college level as a supplement to my counseling career.
