I love learning! And so do most people if they are properly prepared.

Yet each student has preferred learning styles. I find great satisfaction in translating subject matter into a student's favorite 'language of learning'. My goal as a teacher is to first understand the student's goal, and then planning together agree on a strategy to win.

Success is in the system! Creating good study habits is MOST of the battle to great grades.

I've been very successful in creating my own businesses, and can share much "how to" for the entrepreneurs. Yet the success I''m most proud of is that I've tutored my 5 children to enjoy success academically, including Home Schooling a few at the Middle School level.

Growing up in New York, with a Father and Grandmother who were professional Educators has
taught me a very important aspect of learning, and which also aligns with Maria Montessori's theory - learning can go beyond the intellect! Music, Art, Dance, Athletics and Reading for
pleasure, can deeply enrich a student's preparedness, capacity, and true love of learning!

I truly enjoy teaching ESL, ESOL! It is also a pleasure to teach and to learn of the culture which is "spoken" by those who speak English. My method of teaching includes stimulation for each learning style, so that every student is able to enjoy the process of gaining deep understanding - in a multidimensional manner. For example, in addition to using straight forward and tradition strategies, I find integrating the visual, singing songs (Music and the Mind - powerful scientific data!)and playing games to be extremely effective. I guarantee results! One of my favorite approaches to teaching ESL is by working with groups. Especially families! As Maria Montessori taught us, when various age levels collaborate around a common subject matter, each student can soak up learning from their various perspectives within the group. I'll also negotiate a 'group rate' for tutoring more than one student at a time. Let's talk!
