About Rose

I have a BA from Carleton College in mathematics and have taught middle school and high school math since September 2000. Currently I am taking some time away from the classroom to be at home with two young children. I love teaching math and want to continue to work in this field so I am hoping to tutor evenings and weekends.

When I work with students one-on-one I am constantly trying to assess what a student understands and where any gaps might be. I look for alternate ways to explain a concept when necessary and always follow up an explanation with questions or applications to make sure the student really does understand. Any student I tutor will be a very active participant in the process of learning math.
