My name is Lena and I am an experienced English and math tutor. I've been tutoring both subjects at San Jose City College for over three semesters.
English tutoring: I tutored upper division ESL students and students from English 1A, 1B, and 1C courses. I have completed five English courses, all with A grades. Almost all of my students showed improvements after first session; many of the students went from non-passing grades to B or A.
Math tutoring: I tutored Algebra I and II and statistics courses students. Majority of my students reported grades improvements; many students went from non-passing to B and A grades.
My special qualification include genuine care about my students' success, ability to identify the weakest areas and concentrate on prompt improvements in those areas, reliability, responsibility, continuous support and motivation, and enhancing students' self-esteem. I have positive, outgoing personality and I love working with people.
