elementary (k-6th)
I am currently a college student at the University of Oklahoma and was a nanny/tutor for three elementary school girls my junior/senior year of high school. I did it independent of a company and really enjoyed it. Kids are so eager to learn when they are presented information in a fun and easy to get way, and in turn I end up enjoying themselves. My brother had issues reading when he was younger and because he was able to find a great tutor, he became one of the bet readers in his class and reads all the time, even at 17. I believe that if kids have fun and see the value in learning early on they are more likely to become successful in future in all of their endeavors. If taught correctly, kids can see tat education is a privilege and not a burden. Not to mention having a homework buddy makes homework so much better!
theatre
I have been a part of a theatre program for 7 years now. I started when I was 11 as an actor. By the age of 15 I was more interested in the technical aspect of theatre doing everything from lights, sound, and set to stage management and props. Because I have been on both sides of theatre I have a very competent and holistic approach to theatre. I also took classes in high school, including an in depth International Baccalaureate Higher Level course that involved theatre history, study of several different types of international theatre, and created my own production. I love theatre and love sharing it with other people.
