Hi! My name is Carey S, and I have been working with teens and kids for the past four years, and some during college as well. Most of my experience has been through wilderness therapy and at a day treatment Academy for troubled youth. I really enjoy working one on one with people of all ages to help them accomplish their goals. I used to working with young people with various special needs, such as ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, and behavioral disorders. I have both tutoring and classroom experience--sometimes while having the woods for a classroom!
I have a BA in English with an emphasis in creative writing, and I CAN help you become a better writer, wither it be for grade school or the college level, or even for someone that just loves writing and may have an eye on getting published. I can help improve your or your child's reading and analytical skills, and impart how to write winning essays and papers each time. Critical reading and writing skills are absolutely necessary to succeed both academically and professionally.
In addition to being able to improve communication and writing skills, I can help you improve your computer literacy for basic PC and MAC programs. I can also help you start your own website, especially on such free platforms as Wordpress.com and Blogspot.com. For younger ages, I can help impart drawing techniques and exercises. I am also confident in tutoring theatre, philosophy, lower level mathematics and outdoor skills (i.e. navigation, LNT, gear knowledge, outdoor cooking.)
