My name is Jason W and I am a 2005 graduate of Kent State University. I have a Bachelors degree in Adult and Adolescent education, which certifies me to teach grades 7-12, or ages 12-21 in the state of Ohio. My Concentration area is Integrated Social Studies with an emphasis in history; I can teach any of the social sciences with this certification. I have substitute taught in the Akron Public Schools system for three years working through out the district with all grade and subject levels. I have served several long term assignments in history and information technologies, having had my own class room for months at a time. Before working in Akron I taught for one year in the Indian Creek and Steubenville city school districts as a substitute teacher. I have worked as a high school varsity head wrestling coach, a high school junior varsity girls softball coach, and as a youth tackle football head coach. I am an accomplished wrestler, weight trainer, and martial artist.
Throughout Akron Public Schools I have gained a reputation for being a fair, knowledgeable, and dependable substitute teacher. Working with students and subjects of all levels and varieties has given me the skill set needed to succeed as a tutor and to adapt effectively to the needs of the student.
