About Jackie

Hello!
My name is Jackie G and I recently moved to Ohio from Minneapolis. I hold a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in operations management and have worked for large companies such as Best Buy Corporate. While working, I also took evening classes to obtain my Masters in Business Administration and will graduate with my MBA this December (2009).
While in the process of my education, I have discovered that my true calling is in teaching. Therefore, I am hoping to do as much tutoring as possible and plan to begin my Masters in Education beginning in the Spring of 2010 at Xavier University. If there is one thing that I've learned through all of the classes that I have sat through as a student, it is that learning needs to be fun. It is so exciting to see the understanding in someone's face after I have given them some extra help in a particular subject area.
It would be my pleasure to teach students in a variety of subject areas from math to English, or even basic study skills to learn how to pass that next big test. I am a very positive person with a lot of energy and enjoy motivating others to succeed.

More On Jackie's Subjects

  • business

I hold a bachelors degree in Business Administration and am in the process of completing my last 2 courses for my Masters in Business Administration. I have also worked as a professional in the business world for more than 6 years, so have a lot of real world experience to offer.

  • elementary (k-6th)

I am great with children, particularly since I helped my mother out with her in home daycare when I was growing up. I have a bachelors degree and am almost finished with my masters degree and while my degrees are in business, I have a lot to offer in understanding how to study and how to teach others concepts in a fun way. I am very creative and enjoy arts and crafts, which can be a very fun way to help teach the younger students. In addition, I plan to begin my Masters in Education beginning in January of 2010.

  • phonics

Hello, I am very well educated with a bachelors degree and nearly a Masters degree of business (graduating in December). I plan on working with students in both before and after school programs during the school year, so will have plenty of experience in working with kids. In another year, I also plan to begin my Masters of Education degree. I have always worked well with children, beginning as far back as elementary school in doing some extra one-on-one sessions with those in younger grades. I really enjoy spelling and reading and think there are lots of ways to make it fun! If interested in some extra help, let me know! :)

  • study skills

I graduated from high school with nearly a 4.0 and graduated from college with honors. In addition, I managed to work full time and take evening graduate studies for my Masters program, all while planning a wedding, so I am very good at multi-tasking and knowing what it takes to be organized to get things done. I understand that everyone has a different way of studying and the best way to learn may vary from one person to the next. I could certainly help in finding the best way for each individual to study and offer tips and advice from my own personal experiences.
