I am currently in the third year of a doctoral program in US-Middle East diplomatic history at Georgetown University. I am living in New York this upcoming academic year in order to be close to my girlfriend and to study for my comprehensive exams, which I will take in May 2010.
I am particularly strong in tutoring history, English, mathematics, languages (French and Latin), GRE and SAT test preparation, as well as college or graduate school application essays.
A position as a part-time tutor suits my abilities and experience. While earning my bachelors degree from Brown University, I tutored high school students both for-profit with Ivy Tutors as well as not-for-profit with the John Hope Mentoring Program. As a senior consulting associate with Cambridge Associates, I managed fellow consulting associates, often conducting one-on-one reviews and mentoring. While serving in the Peace Corps in Senegal, I worked with young professionals in advising them on basic business and computer skills. During the past two years at Georgetown, I have gained valuable experience as a teaching assistant for undergraduates, having the opportunity to teach classes several times in an academic year. Finally, my outgoing personality and natural patience make me a successful tutor.
