I have a degree in Marketing from the University of Southern Mississippi. I worked in retail for 25 years. I desired a career change so I looked into education. I substituted in a nearby district for a year and a half and decided to get my Teaching Certificate in Secondary Mathematics. I taught for 7 years in that district. While there I taught Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry. I was also the SAT Math Preparation teacher for 3 years, the Mathematics UIL coach for 1 year, and conducted Saturday Math TAKS tutorials for our ESL students. I also taught in another nearby district for 3 years. I taught ESL Algebra I, ESL Geometry and Regular Geometry while at a high school in that district. I also organized and ran ESL Math TAKS tutorial sessions on Saturdays for the 3 years that I taught at that high school. I am currently substituting in 3 surrounding districts and desire to tutor students after school and on weekends to help them succeed in their current math course and/or to help them be successful on the Math TAKS test.
