I have been a teacher for twenty two years.I received my undergraduate degree at The State University of Oswego. My graduate work was completed at San Francisco State. I have taught grades K-8, and graduate school. Currently, I am a literacy coach for grades K-6 specializing in reading and writing. In addition, I work as an adjunct lecturer. Courses I have taught include Literacy in K-6, Literature for Primary and Intermediate grades, and various teaching methods courses. Lastly, I teach several professional development workshops to teachers that focus on improving comprehension and test taking strategies.
I have tutored children in many different subjects including reading, writing, study skills, and test taking strategies. I am a firm believer in recognizing the learning styles of children. Therefore, my instructional methods are varied, focused, and fun. It is my goal as an educator to have children look forward to being educated rather than dread it. In my tutoring sessions, children will experience hands on activities, confidence building lessons, and individual attention.
