Thank you for considering me to be your tutor! By seeking out a tutor for the areas where you are having difficulty, you've obviously shown you are committed to making significant improvements in your performance in certain subjects. If you will allow me, I will be thrilled to work alongside you to help you achieve the level of success worthy of such persistent effort!
After graduating from high school in 1998 (from Starmont High School in Arlington, IA), I completed a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree from New York University's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts. Concentrating on Theatre Performance (acting), I nevertheless excelled in courses in both General and Theatre Studies.
Shortly after graduating from NYU, I completed a Certificate of Pastry Arts from the Art Institute of New York City (formerly the New York Restaurant School). The art of baking incorporates many aspects of math and science (namely, chemistry), should you be interested in studying those subjects in that context.
An avid reader, both scholastically and in my personal life, I am well-versed in most of the literature used in academic classes and can speak intelligently on most themes expressed in literary works. With a special emphasis on plays and dramatic writings, I am more than able to help you interpret and understand poetry and fiction, as well as the contextual relevance of non-fiction works.
Having navigated the ups and downs of learning myself, I am familiar with some of the difficulties you are encountering and I'm sure we can work our way through them together. I will be enthusiastic, determined, and optimistic about your success, and I will expect no less from you.
