My name is Ms. Christina.

My education experience is this;
I graduated from an audition only performing arts high school in Jacksonville, Florida. My major was Creative Writing with a focus in poetry. However, my sophomore year I began taking TV and Film production classes. This is when I decided I’d take this video production art form all the way to the Masters level.

From here I went To Florida Community College at Jacksonville were I completed my general education requirements, electives being courses in creative writing, photography (darkroom) and cinema appreciation. After this I went on to be accepted into a limited access production program at the University of Central Florida where I receive my B.A. in Film - World Cinema with a minor in Creative Writing (of course, poetry being the focus). Here I also completed the "Initial Teaching Professional Preparation" certificate course. This program is designed to certify people from outside the Education department, so they will be ready to enter the classroom. During this time I interned at University High School in Orlando, FL.

I am currently completing my M.F.A. in Film and Digital Technology at Chatham University, with a focus in Script Writing. Here (besides creating my production pieces and writing my thesis which focuses on film theory) I learned handy skills like creating a simple website using a template; www.cebproductions.org. My tutoring experience is this;
In Jacksonville, Florida I worked in a program offering free after school tutoring to high school students. We did simple algebra, science and language arts or any subject in which the students needed help. We’d meet for 3 hours after school Monday through Friday.
I also tutored in the Reading and Writing Center at FCCJ. Here I would read over all types of papers and then help the students make corrections. They could even come to the center at the beginning of the paper and we’d help them all the way through, starting with the first draft.

I’ve been working with the visual image, the camera eye, for the past 10 years. I started in an audition only art high school where I created a recycling PSA, music videos and experimental poetry to video pieces. I then continued my education when I took a cinema appreciation and creative writing course at Florida Community College at Jacksonville before attending the University of Central Florida for a BA in World Cinema. This program was supposed to be a BFA before we graduated but that never happened. I am currently finishing my MFA in Film and digital technology at Chatham University.
