About Troi

Hello! My name is Troi J and I am delighted to give my services to help others succeed. In my opinion success is measured by accomplishing any type of goals one sets out for themselves. I love to teach others and am eager to supply the necessary equipment needed to help students succeed.

I graduated high school from Jenks in 2004 and have since received my Bachelor's in Eduation from Northeastern State University. I have been working with students aged 3-18 for the last 10 years in various environments. I knew from the age of 13 that I was blessed with the gift to impart into others needed education as well as a sense of accomplishments and a heightened self-esteem.

I have worked for Jenks Public Schools as both a tutor and as a teacher. I have also worked for Victory Christian School as a tutor and assisted for several years in their summer camp program. I have done volunteer work for my church for inner-city kids as well as suburban kids and I have learned that many learners need assistance in learning no matter where they are from.

I support the idea of positive reinforcement when learning. It helps students and parents alike feel fueled to continue with their education. I like to bring real-life situations into what a person is learning to tie their education to their own lives. This helps information be retained for an extended period of time.

More On Troi's Subjects

  • elementary (k-6th)

I am currently licensed to teach 1st through 8th grade all subjects (1st-6th grade math) in the state of Oklahoma. I have been teaching, tutoring and encouraging students in this age group for the last ten years. I am very knowledgeable in the area of elementary education and my expertise has led to many successes in subjects across the board.

  • phonics

I spent several months in the last 2 years working with students that qualified for reading assistance through the state of Oklahoma. These students ranged from 2nd grade to 6th grade. In most students I saw that a lot of their reading challenges dated back to trouble with phonetics. I spent a great deal of time in my college reading classes studying phonics because it is the basis for reading proficiently. I've worked with students that have trouble with different vowel combinations as well as consonant combinations.

Student Feedback

  • Absolutely lovely and engaging.

Troi was great and I was thrilled to find she had the time to give Dominic the attention he needs. He loved her instantly and responded to her help willingly. Troi was prepared for the lesson, examined Dominic's math book and determined with a few tests the steps he had missed with all our globetrotting. We are now scheduled for four hours a week and couldn't be happier.
