I have over 2o years experience in education. In addition to a B.S. in Education with a major/minor in social studies, I have a Juris Doctor in Law with honors in Contracts and Legal Writing and Analysis. I also hold a TEFL/TESL certificate from Oxford University. I am qualified in Arizona to teach English and certified in Kentucky in secondary Social Studies. I have trained teachers, helped physicians, musicians, professors and others to improve their reading, writing, speaking and listening English communication skills.

Although I am certified in Social Studies, I specialize in English as a Second Language with eight years' experience teaching EFL/ESL, American history and culture, legal language and writing to all ages and levels in the U.S. and Asia.

In addition, I work with groups and companies to help their employees develop their ability to speak clearly and improve their American accents for more a more confident speaking voice and to be more easily understood.

I also am a ballroom dancer with teacher training and am able to work with beginning ballroom dance students in all styles of ballroom and Latin dance

I have a wide range of knowledge and am able to successfully work with most students and subjects--except mathematics and higher sciences.

I have been ballroom dancing for 10 years, both international and American style and have loved every second of it. I liked it so much I have recently taken DIVDA's Ballroom Dance Teacher Training Course. I am able to instruct both smooth and latin/rhythm dances and the popular social dances, salsa, foxtrot, merengue, etc. Although I still love to do my own dancing, I really enjoy getting other people interested in an activity that is fun and full of very nice people.

ESL/ESOL

I have eight years experience teaching ESL/ESOL including five years teaching English as a Foreign Language in Korea. I have a B.S. in Education and a J.D. in Law. I have taught K-post graduate students English grammar, speaking and writing. My honors in this area include a Teacher of the Year award, top foreign teacher, and top-rated teacher per student evaluations. Although I have taught children, I prefer (and love) to teach adults and specialize in improving communication, vocabulary, pronunciation. I currently work with a physicist on improving his American accent and would like to add more adult students who need help with their English.
