I am currently, a senior computer engineering major at Virginia State University. I have had two internships while in high school and college. In my first internship, I was a computer network technician with a county school system. I was able to expand my knowledge in troubleshooting computers and some preventative maintenance. In this internship, I was able to pass down my knowledge to newer interns helping them succeed throughout the internship. I am very good teacher in general computer knowledge. I am also very familiar with Microsoft Office and all of the Microsoft operating systems. My internship now is with the Federal Aviation Administration where I am a general engineer intern. I support the Technical Support Group. My job duties included computer programming in languages such as Java, C++, and Visual Basic. I have automated a questionnaire tool in which the Technical Support Group uses to do benefit-cost analysis on airports. I am also part of a team that is aiding in benefit-cost analysis for major airports across the county. I am excellent in teaching math, computer science, and most of the sport subjects. I am very strong in algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. I can broaden basic computers skills and/or build on ones already present. I have many students and friends who I have helped do homework, study for tests, and complete projects for in all kinds of subjects. My engineering background gives me a broad and technical base when it comes to subjects dealing with science and math. My teaching skills are more preferable in a one on one environment because I am able to adapt to the way the student is learning. Learning in the classroom can be very difficult especially if your pace is slower or faster than other kids. In my style, I am able to let my students or friends show me how they are able to retain information and to turn into to something they know (knowledge). I do not like to give answers because it defeats the purpose of learning. Once the student realizes how he or she comes up with the result, I can turn them into learning machines. Growing up I was able to take what my teachers taught me and manipulate it to my version so, I was able to understand. In doing this I was able to learn and retain information at a much faster pace because I knew how to learn a particular subject or concept. Thanks for your time.
