More On Lauren's Subjects

elementary (k-6th)

While I was in high school, I tutored grade school students in math, English, and science. I am a NYU student now and I feel that I am proficient in the studies of elementary school. I keep up by rereading books that I read in my K-6th years and reviewing basic math. I have also helped my siblings with their homework for many years. I have also been teaching Hebrew school to kindergarten and 1st grade students and I relate very well to kids.

Hebrew

I studied Hebrew in school from K-12. All of my Judaic studies classes from 9-12 were given in Hebrew and demanded our responses to be in Hebrew as well. I can speak, read, and write with reasonable fluency. I also took a test in my senior year of high school called the Jerusalem Exam (Yerushalmi). I scored very highly on this test and received 8 credits for college, enabling me to place out of any language requirement. I spent a year after 12th grade in Israel studying Judaic studies and increased my Hebrew skills even further. I also teach Hebrew school to Kindergarten and 1st grade students so I am comfortable beginning with the basics.
