My name is Sean N, I live in San Mateo, and I just graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics & Statistics. I tutored math at San Jose State University for two years (four semesters) and I would like to continue math tutoring.
When it comes to Algebra I and II, I spent two years answering algebra questions while I was working as a math tutor (exponents, radicals, factoring, long division etc.). During those summers as well, I spent 5 hours a day in front of classroom waiting for students to raise their hand when they had an algebra question. Accordingly, for you, the inquiring math student, I would be able to tell you EVERYTHING about what to do and what to look out for when doing any tedious algebra problem. There would be no blunt answers: "just do this ... just do that..". It would be my obligation to know exactly what you need to anticipate and be prepared for during a future algebra exam. I know about the tricky angles that could possibly be ventured when an algebra exam is written out.
My math degree was concentrated in basic statistics, probability and some advanced statistics.
Students came to me for help in Calculus one Calculus II. I also helped students in Ordinary Differential Equations and in Applied Statistics & Probability.
I live in San Mateo and I am willing to commute and drive up to 30 miles for a math tutoring appointment.
