Greetings. I am a bona fide teacher who has taught on almost all levels from junior high to graduate. My teachers certification includes a Latin, Spanish , and history endorsement.I love learning languages and teaching Latin, Spanish, ESL, and English.
I have a MA from a prestigious Virginia university and have authored several works including a workbook on ESL teaching. I am currently on a leave of absence from a university teaching job.
My tutoring is a little bit different from the rest-In additional to covering the core material,I stress a methodology and strategy for learning the language. Since tutoring usually is not done on a daily basis, self-study guidelines as well as one-to-one instruction are paramount. I have tutored many students across the globe and understand the need for individual guidance. The one-shoe-fits-all approach doe not always work. Once I determine the goals, motivation, and needs of the student, I formulate a plan and determine materials. Regardless of your motive for learning a foreign language, I think I can be of help.

ESL/ESOL

I am a former university professor and secondary teacher of ESL. I have much experience teaching ESL in Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. In addition, I have written a text book for ESL and have spoken at many conferences around the world. I have a MA in the subject. I have a unique method for teaching ESL which incorporates different facets of learning such as total physical response, visual, language association, and kinesthetic learning. Furthermore, I have learned to adapt my teaching to the age, gender, and needs of the student. However, I think my biggest asset is my patience. Having taught two other foreign languages, I can readily diagnose problems in the study of the language. I would enjoy opening a new language experience to you.
