About Freddie

My name is Freddie, currently a graduate from the University of California Berkeley. I got a Bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, which has made me adept in basic Math. I have tutored Math in summer programs that charge 1200 $ per student, so I know the value of great tutoring. If you are at all curious on how I teach, I advocate the Socratic method so that the student engages with the subject rather than tries to memorize facts. I am also fluent in Spanish and took all the courses in High School up to the AP level. I am very skilled conjugating verbs which is what a lot of non native speakers have trouble with. The following is a list of the subjects I can assist with: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1&2, Trigonometry/Math Analysis, Calculus 1&2, and Spanish

More On Freddie's Subjects

  • soccer

I played soccer, or football as the English call it, since I was 5 years old all the way up to varsity in High School. Throughout it all, I had coaches that I will always remember for their teachings and inspiration. Perhaps the most memorable of them all is a Brazilian coach who taught me about jogo bonito, which is a style of playing that incorporates fancy footwork and deceitful passes to overwhelm an opponent. Most importantly, jogo bonito is about having fun no matter how bad you may be playing. It is these teachings that I can offer to someone who is new to the game. Obviously I cannot pretend to have the credentials and experience to teach a national squad, but I can help out with the basics: passing, shooting, dribbling, protecting the ball, etc. Additionally I can help out with fancier moves such as juggling, bicycle kicks, fancier dribbling, and fancier shots.
