  Chess. As in many countries, chess (ajedrez) is a popular game. In my case, I started playing since I was 5 years old. I played in through elementary school and high school. In addition, I have a chess tutor for most of my years in elementary 3rd grade to 7th grade. In my times, high school began in 8th grade and from there on; I began to play chess representing my high school. Though I never made it to the top three in any tournament, I feel strong enough on my abilities and skills. In any case, as a teacher, I was part of the chess club in my school though since I was also the soccer coach the time given to the chess club was limited. I feel that chess is more than a strategic game; it teaches patience and reasoning putting people's mind on the mind of someone else. This act helps to think ahead of the opponent as well as to see the world (the game) through the eyes of other. An understanding of the game is crucial but an understanding of us and others is as crucial in order to succeed in chess and in life.

  As anyone with some world experience know, Argentina is one of the most important countries when it comes to soccer. To speak of Argentina without speaking of soccer in some degree is missing a big part of the popular culture. I have watched and played soccer for pretty much most of my life. I have played in several leagues during both elementary school and high school. In addition, I played in the US with my college team at the community college I was attending (FMCC). I am enrolled in indoor leagues as well as outdoor leagues. Currently I played an outdoor in the Capital Region and I played in the Afrim's Leagues during the winter. As a coach, I have completed Phase 3 of the NYS certification process to be a Soccer Coach in public schools. In addition, I have coached the JV team of my HS (Christian Brothers Academy). In all, I believe I am qualify to pass on my knowledge and skills of this game onto others.
