About
Ali: |
|
There are very few things more wonderful than seeing a student finally getting it. That is why I tutor. I am a native French-speaker, close to native Spanish-speaker, and I am passionate about history. I tutored my college peers for four years in Earlham College, in Richmond, Indiana, for French, Spanish and Political Science. I also tutored middle and high-schoolers for French, Spanish and world history, during the same period. I am passionate about languages, as I am about world history, and government, and I yearn to pass that passion onto my students. I have one goal: that my students not only retain enough of the knowledge to meet test requirements, but that they become proficient. I want my language students to be able to speak French or Spanish with confidence, even at a basic level. And I want my government students to truly understand the interconnectivity of this world of ours, through its history, and how it impacts government. I tutor because I enjoy sharing knowledge, and because I have learned how to do it efficiently. I am looking forward to being your tutor. |

My passion is teaching languages to people, because languages are the very vehicle that bring people closer together, an endeavor that is dear to my heart. I have been teaching French and Spanish to Americans for about 5 years, and I taught English as a Second Language to non-native speakers at the Townsend Center in Richmond, IN, from 2002 to 2007.
As someone who has had to master English as a Second Language myself, I have a unique and helpful perspective on the intricacies of the English language, on mastering grammar and pronunciation, and on softening ones' accent. It would be my pleasure to share that particular insight through my teaching to you.
