I am a certified teacher in many subject areas: elementary education, special education (all levels) and reading (all levels). I have taught in both regular education and special education classes and I have been a special education administrator and a building administrator. I have special training in many scientifically based reading programs such as the Wilson Language program, LIPS, V/V, and RAVE-O. I can also complete educational assessments. One of my specialties is assessment of reading, spelling and writing and then prescribing specific programs. I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education and special education, 2 masters (one in reading and language and the other in school psychology and counseling), and a doctorate in administration (doctoral thesis delineated factors for positive inclusion strategies). I teach graduate courses in curriculum, special education, reading and administration. I have also helped parents over the years understand the special education process.   I have much experience at the elementary level. I have taught various grade levels and I have also taught special education at this level. I have tutored many students over the years with varying needs. I have been trained in many specialized reading programs such as the Wilson Language Program, LIPS, V/V, and RAVE-O.   I have worked in the field of special education for over 25 years. I have taught in a substantially separate class and worked as an inclusion teacher. I have also worked as an ETC (Evaluation Team Chairperson) for several years then later worked as a Special Education Administrator. I have worked with most populations identified under IDEA to include emotional disability, autism spectrum disabilities, communication disabilities, learning disabilities and intellectual disabilities. I have also designed many specialized programs for schools. Coupled with my extensive background in specialized language/reading and writing programs, I have tutored reading, spelling, and writing to individuals with disabilities. I am certified in the Wilson Language Program, trained in various programs such as LIPS and V/V (Lindamood Bell), RAVE-O and Touch Math.
