I hold a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in English/Creative Writing from Goddard College, Vermont, which I earned while writing my first novel. Currently I'm taking an assortment of science classes in order to meet the prerequisites to teach Middle- or High School Science through the Teach for America program. During the regular school year I work as a substitute teacher with Denver Public Schools.

I am a strong believer in conceptual learning: memorizing for a test is nowhere near as effective or appetizing as actually internalizing and understanding the material. I understand that not every person learns in the same manner, and I like finding the best teaching modality for the individual. I understand implicitly the hardships of learning disabilities; I had to learn to adapt Attention Deficit Disorder into a spatially-organized multi-planar thought process.
