Hi! My name is Bill, and I can make math simple and even fun! I believe in starting with something you already know, and building on that with small simple steps. Being good at math is not a single skill or talent. It is a lot of small skills. So I find out what skills you have and what skills you don’t have yet. Then I build on your current skills to develop new skills. Math is like fishing. Fishing is more fun when you’re catching fish. Math is more fun when you’re succeeding.
In my career, I have taught grade-school children, young adults, and older adults. I am currently a music teacher. Before teaching music, I was a software engineer, mostly in biomedical applications. Before that I was a graduate student. I have taught many different things: math, biology, physics, chemistry, rock climbing, kayaking, skiing, and Qi Gong.
