My name is Keith. I have a Bachelors degree in music and a Masters in education. My minor was in journalism, (print and broadcast). I have published a book of essays as well as a music book. I like to tutor English Language arts. This includes Reading Grammar, writing and vocabulary building. I focus on topics that the students enjoy and show them how they relate to other things in their life. If a student is in school already, I like to start with their current assignments to see how comfortable they are already where they are. Once you are comfortable with reading and writing basic sentences, stories and able to explain it for someone else, you are usually on your way to understanding more advanced work.. My approach is interactive, I prefer students to have questions ready based on some earlier effort on their part. In this was, learning becomes more fun and hands on.
I also tutor music. For music I can teach voice or basic piano, or music theory. Music requires a different level of commitment. You have to motivate yourself to practice alone. Computer technology makes practicing and learning these days a lot of fun. To write your own song, you need to have a good understanding of how sentences work and how to tell stories
