Hi,

I have just finished my first year of medical school at Des Moines University and am looking to help tutor to make some money over the summer. I have experience in a variety of subjects; of course most of them are based in the physical sciences. I graduated from the University of WI in Madison in 2007 with a bachelor's degrees in psychology and biology (with a neurobiology option). I have tutored high school math before, and also some drop-in tutoring in some science courses when I was in college.

From my own experiences and modern advances in learning theory, I have found that the application of concepts is the best and most efficient way to retain knowledge. Just teaching concepts is not enough to learn something thoroughly, you need to be able to manipulate the them to involve higher levels of processing. I will include this fact in any tutoring I do.
