I have taught all levels, from kindergarten to graduate and senior, in Spanish (my expertise) as well as English, English Composition, and Literature. An accomplished jazz musician, I have given private lessons on piano and guitar. I am published in Spanish and English, and am an experienced editor (Holt, Rinehart, Winston; McDougal), and have taught composition and developmental writing. I have 23 years of teaching experience, and currently teach as an adjunct professor of Spanish at Pima College, and of Literature at Brown Mackie College. I earned a B.A. degree in Hispanic Literature from the Universidad de las Américas in Puebla, Mex., an M.A. in Spanish (Latin American Literature with minor in Medieval and Golden Age Peninsular lit) from the U of Arizona, where I continued 3 years toward the doctorate (ABD) before accepting a post at Colegio Jefferson in Cali, Colombia.

I am known for being an "all-rounder" in my subbing, having sat in for absent teachers in Latin, Chorus, French, Shakespeare, as well as my expertise (Spanish). I have 13 years experience as a Cross Country and Track and Field Coach, and my teams have won 9 district championships in Texas and Louisiana. I was formerly an accomplished runner myself, being ranked 9th nationally in the mile (over 35) and 5th in the 5,000 track.

I can tutor! I have worked privately as a tutor for nearly as long as I have taught, and have worked here in Tucson with Principal Tutoring and SurePrep.
