I was an NCAA Division I athlete in swimming at the University of Wyoming where I also received a BA in English. While at Wyoming, I was an academic all-conference selection all four years. In 2006, I was awarded a study abroad scholarship and took an opportunity to study English literature in London. While there I also worked at an international publishing house, contributing to the editorial process.
My academic focus at Wyoming was in English literature and writing. Coursework included many literature surveys with an intense writing demand. I also took courses in report and news writing, creative writing, religion, analytical theory, Chinese history, and Spanish.
Since graduating I have pursued interests in writing and swimming. I currently assist in coaching the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's and women's swim team and I freelance for several publications. Writing is a passion of mine and I aim to make it a career. I recently took the GRE in order to apply to graduate school for a Masters of Fine Arts in creative non-fiction writing.
My tutoring strengths are in literature, writing, vocabulary, editing, and proofreading. I also bring professional editing experience to the table and have spent time working in an international and national publishing environment. In addition to my academic talent, I also have in-depth knowledge of swimming and collegiate athletics as a whole.
