My name is Saima and I just finished my first year of law school at George Washington University in Washington D.C. I'm pursuing a career in international business law.
Prior to coming to law school, I graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, GA (my hometown) where I graduated with a 3.85 GPA, major in psychology, and minor in Spanish.
I was very involved on campus in various leadership activities and my outgoing personality and confidence in my academic abilities is what sparked my interest in tutoring.
During college, I worked for Kaplan Test Prep as an SAT classroom instructor for three years. My classroom size ranged from 5 to 30 students and I felt comfortable in both large and small settings. Further, my job required that I meet with students privately to assess their improvement as the class progressed.
My most recent tutoring/teaching experience was at Boston Academy, a private tutoring company in Atlanta. At Boston Academy, I taught in the areas of reading and writing, including SAT reading comprehension and essay writing. I worked with students ranging from third to twelfth grade in both the private tutoring and classroom context.
I have also tutored privately in basic classroom subjects for students in elementary, middle, and high school.
Finally, I have a passion for writing and this is exhibited by my recent selection as a GW Law "Writing Fellow", where I will tutor upcoming first-year law students in legal writing.
I have a friendly personality and generally develop a close relationship with my tutoring students. The only thing that I ask for is that my students maintain a positive attitude (in that they hope to succeed) and work hard as we work together to achieve positive results!
