I graduated Cum Laude from Philippine Normal University with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Mathematics for Teachers in 1996. Upon graduation, I passed the Board Exam for teachers in the Philippines. I finished my Master of Education degree with a major of Math at De La Salle University with High Distinction. I've been teaching for almost 12 years. I am a certified Math teacher in the Philippines, in California and in Tennessee. My first year of teaching was in a Montessori School where I taught Algebra I and II. There, I became more knowledgeable in Montessori way of teaching Mathematics. From Montessori school, I transferred to Carmona National School and taught Advanced Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Trigonometry and Pre calculus for almost 8 years. In addition to teaching, I coached and joined several contests such as Math Olympiad, Math junior Quiz bee, and slogan contest. I also wrote a textbook in Algebra, which was published in the Philippines in 2007. From Philippines, I moved to California and taught Geometry, Algebra and Pre algebra at Fontana High School for 3 years. Then I moved to Tennessee.During my years of experience as a classroom teacher, I did one on one tutoring and small group tutoring to help those students who were struggling in Math to pass. As a result, many of my students are passing as evident in their Math grades and in their State Test Scores. I do believe that each child is unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help the students meet their fullest potential in their areas by providing an environment that is safe, support risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. I also believe that every child can learn and everybody has a potential to learn.
