In 2001, I graduated from CCSU with GPA of 3.6 and a teaching certificate in Elementary Education. In order to attain my degree, I
- Spent 60 hours as an in class tutor
- Designed lesson plans and taught the lessons
- Designed and implemented lesson modifications and classroom behavior management
programs for IEP students.
After college, I substitute taught for the West Hartford Public School System for about 2 school years. I gained even more experience with grades K-5.
In October 2002, my son was born at 1 pound 9 ounces, 16 weeks early. Now at the age of 6, I am home schooling him due to his health concerns. Otherwise I would be teaching in a school system, since I am fully qualified.
I am very good with kids. My first goal would be for your child to feel comfortable with me, then confident that he or she will reach the goals. I have a natural ability to see what is confusing a student and what they need to attain to move forward. I understand very well how different learners are and can customize lessons to fit their needs. Most of my experience is in Elementary and the fundamentals, but in Middle School and High School math was always my strong subject. I look forward to helping children reach their goals.
