Hello. My name is Desiree and I graduated from UCLA in Spring 2007 with a Bachelor's in Molecular, Cell, Developmental Biology with a minor in Computer Science. I'm very comfortable teaching Math, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biology, SAT I, and SAT II Subject Tests. For those that need assistance in Computer Science, I have taken courses in C++, C, Visual Basics, Perl, Java, and JavaScript. As for foreign languages, I've completed 6 years of German Studies and am currently attempting to read Harry Potter in German. In high school I participated in Basketball and Track & Field.

I've recently moved out here from California where I lived all my life. I grew up in the Bay Area, went to school in Los Angeles, but now think it's time to live my life on the East Coast. I'm currently applying to Dental School for Fall 2010, so I have over a year to dedicate to tutoring. I'm very friendly and down to earth.   I completed the Computer Science minor at UCLA in Spring 2007. The minor required courses in 6 programming classes. During the summer, I took courses at community college in Computer Science. In high school, I passed the AP Computer Science test (C++) with a 5. Other languages include: C, C++, Java, Javascipt, Perl, and Visual Basics. I noticed that the fundamentals for each language remained the same, and that only the syntax changed. From having such a strong foundation, I was able to complete the minor at UCLA and take additional Computer Science courses at community college. I enjoy Computer Science because it reminds me of a puzzle where there are only so many tools that can be used to solve it. During high school and college, I found that many of my engineering friends could not grasp the concepts of programming. I realize that programming is difficult, but feel that with proper organization (Pre-Code) any problem can be solved! I was lucky to have had great teachers to instill a sound foundation and passed these tips onto my struggling classmates.
