I am currently a tutor at Fresno City College where I have worked, off and on, since 1993. I tutor in seventeen subjects there and enjoy working with students.
My personal area of interest includes history, political science, economics, geography, and anthropology. However, I also enjoy astronomy, linguistics, German, and French.
I am starting a Masters of History program at California State University Fresno in the Fall 2009 semester. Once finished with this program, my intention is to teach at the community college level while I work on a Ph.D.
As far as my teaching style is concerned, I prefer to use the Socratic method of asking the student questions in order to help them discover the answers for themselves. Since I am not an instructor, I view the session as a peer-to-peer experience.
