Over the past couple of years, I have worked with the Educational Resource Program at Charlotte Country Day Middle School. During this time, I have received formal training and worked with students in all subjects except a few languages. I have logged thousands of hours with students on a one-on-one setting, providing a space where they can casually absorb the information without pressure from the classroom or the teacher. Additionally, I tutor 3-5 times per week outside the home, working in various subjects from Chinese History to Algebra 2. This being said, I am very qualified to tutor your child. I try to focus on the student's strengths when I meet with them. I've found that focusing on what students are good at allows them to approach their weaknesses with confidence instead of fear. During my time with the student, we do tons of practice. I believe absolutely that "practice makes perfect" and I have a virtually limitless amount of resources that will help them with this. In 2005, I graduated from Furman University with a B.A. in History and Health and Exercise Science. Currently, I am enrolled in UNC Charlotte earning my Masters in History. I made a 1400 on my SAT, 5's on 6 AP tests, a 1300 on my GRE, including a 770 Math and 5/6 on the writing portion. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from Furman with a cumulative GPA of 3.72. My current GPA in my Masters program is a 4.0/4.0. Needless to say, I believe I can both intellectually and socially guide your student toward success in a variety of academic fields.
