I enjoy teaching very much. It has not only been a career but a passion of mine for many years. I have taught every level of student from pre-schoolers to adults. I have also developed teaching programs for gifted and challenged students. I was the first person to develop an internship program for Ohio State University in teaching. The normal student teaching experience ranged from 4 weeks to 6 weeks. I helped to develop a program in which student teachers worked for 6 months and received a small payment for doing so. This way the teacher could get an in depth study in "students" as well as subject matter. Every student is different with different needs. Learning the "ropes" of teaching can be beneficial but learning how to work with individuals is highly important.

I have worked in many areas of study, with specific training in English, reading, writing, business, psychology, speech and hearing pathology education and educational humanities. I have a great deal of working experience overseas with different languages as well. I know how important it is to help a person understand customs and mores' of a culture to allow them to integrate into another culture. Having been in this my position myself, I feel I have a unique ability to help people who are trying to attain a level of understanding in English as a second language.

I am also a published author. I not only enjoy writing but thrive on it. I also understand that one must write to be understood. My ability in writing is one of my best attributes.

I am a voracious reader which has allowed me to be an avid learner of new skills. I often have 4 books going at a time. I can keep all of these going and learn what I need to at any given place in the instructional level. I think this would help me in helping students because I can quickly and accurately "plug into" their skill levels and needs. A curriculum is a set of goals to accomplish. However, my ability to individualize instruction is one of my highest goals, not just what a workbook outlines.
I have taught in public schools and private institutions. I have lectured at university level and for business forums.
I have owned and operated several businesses domestically and internationally. I believe my wide and vast experience has been a great asset to my ability to teach.

My tutoring style is unique. It is fun, not ordinary or mundane. I have gotten the most unenthusiastic student to get involved. One may count on a total experience with me. I welcome your questions and thoughts to see if we are a good fit...

Teaching English as a second language is a very interesting and challenging job. I believe I have the credentials to this job; as I have a degree in English literature, reading and comprehension. I also have a degree in Speech and Hearing Pathology which allows me to understand how the English language is spoken by actually knowing where the exact placement of the tongue should be when producing sounds. This is very helpful for people of different cultures because they can be taught how to precisely place the tongue and use the breath to clearly and accurately produce the desired dialectic understanding and production of a word. Further, I have training in linguistics which helps me to understand the history of the given and spoken word. I have part of a Masters degree in Educational Humanities. I have vast experiences in foreign cultures having lived and worked in the following areas of the world: Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia, Hong Kong, Aruba, Turkey, England, Greece, and Israel. I had to master many different types of languages to be understood in many of these countries. Often, it was a combination of languages I knew and some parts of others I learned along the way. Living in other cultures gives me a unique ability to put myself in the place of a person learning a “living” foreign language. The living language is often so different from the formal taught language. My ability to discern this comes from having had to do what it takes to be understood. I feel I can teach English correctly and usefully for any student who might want to learn how to “live” the culture and speak the language not only of the “proper texts” but of the people and daily life.
