About
Pamela: |
If you’re motivated and ready to learn in an easy and fun setting, then give me a try!
Both in the classroom and on the ice I like to make a comfortable easy leaning environment. I am both a visual and vocal teacher allowing students to learn in the way that suits them best. I am extremely organized, punctual and responsible. Many students feel more comfortable dealing with a tutor who is still in school or closer to their age, since they are more in tune with life as a student. I can provide a productive means of learning while still having tons of fun.
I am finishing my degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY in Mathematics with a minor in Psychology. I have taken three years of college courses focusing in math but extending to science, engineering and humanities (please see bottom for a complete list.)** Currently, I hold a 3.95 GPA and am on the Dean’s Honor List.
I have been tutoring in k-12 and AP subjects for the past 6 years. I have excelled in high school, completing nine AP courses (Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Physics B, Statistics, English Literature & Composition, European History, US History, Psychology) I’ve worked previously at a tutoring company servicing over 20 local school districts for over 2 years. My experience extends to SAT Math Preparation, Study Skills, Regents Review, and all science and math based subjects.
Along with working toward my degree in Mathematics, I share my passion with many of the students at RPI by working as a Skills Assistant, or Undergraduate Teaching Assistant. In this position, I conduct four classes a week by myself in Calculus for our future engineers. I am experienced in fabricating quizzes and exams as well as teaching the basic skills needed to succeed in any technical field.
Growing up I fell in love with figure skating and have since then taken any opportunity to share that love as well. I’ve achieved my Gold Medal in Moves in the Field, or technical skating, completing my Senior MITF test. I have also reached a Pre-Gold Ice Dancing level and a Juvenile Freestyle level. I have skated on synchronized skating teams for 8 years. Throughout high school, I coached figure skating for both children and adults. I conducted group lessons as well as private lessons. My experience ranges from basic skills classes to United States Figure Skating Association skating tests. Also, I was a cheerleader for 5 years and have experience in cheerleading and some gynmastics as well.
I hope you’re interested and I can’t wait to hear from you!

Student Reviews:
THE BEST!!
Pamela was wonderful! I never met someone with so much passion for chemistry. She was positive, smart, fun, and easy to work with. My son felt at complete ease with her and totally understood her way of teaching. They clicked! He was hesitant to get a tutor, but now he's hooked. She built his confidence, was very patient, and seemed to enjoy every minute of her time tutoring. She's a natural! We should have more teachers like her out in the world!
Thank you, WyzAnt!
