proofreading First of all, I "distance proofread/edit" my sophomore college daughter's English papers and she finished this semester with a 4.0 (A)--although I will not take full credit for that! Seriously, I have experience as a business web-site editor, editing and proofreading copy before its publication on the Internet. I constantly see such errors in pulications, on TV, etc. Editing! study skills By teaching ninth and tenth grade English students at an inner city high school, I have first-hand knowledge of the lack of study skills (apparently)not sufficiently addressed in lower-level educational settings. At the same time, I taught English at a "specialty" school; i.e., one that focuses on career development in merchandising, etc. Their study skills and work habits--at a community college equivalent level--weren't much better (none of them were previous students of mine at the high school)! The point is, a strong foundation of study skills --constantly reinforced--is essential to academic success.
