About Matias

Hello!

My name is Matias G., I am 23 and I live on the bayside in Miami, FL. I moved here from Washington, D.C. about two and a half years ago to pursue completion of my college studies and have enjoyed it very much. I'm majoring in entrepreneurship and keep a deep passion for it. The weather has always been a strong motivational factor in my living here, both mentally and physically. I am a sports and health enthusiast and it's always important to encourage the same to others. Growing up I participated in all the sports and activities, even the ones I found particularly boring, but there are three that I have a specific interest in and those are soccer, tennis, and weightlifting.

Soccer is my favorite sport on Earth. I grew up playing it competitively and haven't stopped yet. Living in a place that has great weather year-round makes it very easy to go out and practice or play in scrimmages at parks. My teaching style will surround the fundamentals of soccer and various drilling methods. I never make it out to be work though, only fun.

Tennis goes along the same line as soccer. When I was four I started to learn tennis and I competed in a myriad of round-robins throughout my life. I stopped playing competitively in 10th grade, but have kept it up recreationally up to date. I was also a tennis instructor for a couple years at a local country club where I grew up. It was the best job I ever had too.

I began lifting weights when I was in 9th grade and still do it today. I've had jobs at a couple gyms in my life and was a personal trainer at one point. My workout routine is very organized as well.

Once again I want the student to have fun, not feel like they're out to work. I'm looking forward to meeting whoever you may be. Thanks for reading!

More On Matias's Subjects

I love this sport. I started learning soccer when I was a toddler and played competitively until I was almost 17. Up to this day I participate in scrimmages or just practice by myself every week. My strength is probably my vision and teamwork. I like both offense and defense and prefer playing the right midfielder position. Developing strong and steady legs and focusing on being precise every time I kick the ball is very important to me. I would also analyze soccer games when I'd watch them on tv. With the student I will focus solely on increasing his/her eye-foot coordination with the soccer ball through drills and endurance training. I will be joining the student in the exercises too. In its effectiveness, with enough time I guarantee my lessons will be beneficial.
