About M. Dianne

To Whom It May Concern:

I have a BS Degree in Education, and have taken many additional educational courses from a variety of universities, both in the U.S. and overseas, since receiving my degree.

I have had more than 25 years teaching experience, much which was done in American schools overseas (with American curriculum). I have taught grades Pre-K through Grade 5 in the basic subjects, Music in Grades K - 9, Grade 7 General Math, have been a Reading Specialist, and was the Math Lab Instructor in Dubai for Grades 1 - 5. This last mentioned position was for children who had difficulties with certain math concepts and were pulled out of the regular classroom for additional assistance until concepts were understood.

I have been a tutor for various elementary age students, have worked with students who have ADD, ADHD, and Dyslexia. I am also currently tutoring a college student who is working on her Master's Degree in Education.

For one year I homeschooled for a family in Colorado in all subjects.

Whether I teach in a formal group setting or in a one-on-one tutoring session, I meet with the student(s), do an evaluation to see where the student(s) needs assistance, and try to determine what type of learning works best in a particular situation (auditory, tactile, hands-on, visual, etc.). From there, I help students set goals, and I prepare lesson plans which will help the student(s) reach these goals.

I am considered a kind and compassionate teacher and not only wish to assist my students in their academic needs, but also in building their self esteem. The latter is of utmost importance for the student's future.

More On M. Dianne's Subjects

  • Bible studies

Hello! As I was growing up, I attended church and Sunday School every Sunday morning and evening. On Thursday evenings there was a Bible service. I learned to quote MANY Bible verses and still can tell children the well-known Bible stories in an interesting way. If you want to learn the basic Bible stories and what lesson they can teach us, please contact me. Some people think that the Bible is VERY boring, but, there ares SO many interesting stories in it about all sorts of life happenings that relate to what happens to us today! Just try it and see for yourself! I hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Dianne Stuckey

  • elementary (k-6th)

Dear Students, I received my Degree in Elementary Education in Goshen College, Goshen, Indiana, and am qualified to teach from Grades K - Grade 6. I have also taken many other educational classes after graduating from college from different universities. I have taught Elementary School for many years, and I really enjoy working with students in Grades K - Grade 6. I am an interesting teacher, having lived and traveled all over the world! I lived/taught in Libya, Egypt, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Can you find these places on the globe? Then I also visited at least 60 countries during that time, so I like to teach math or reading, for example, where you, the students, can learn those particular subjects, but also learn World Geography at the same time!I also like to teach Art and Music within my classes. I look forward to hearing from you, as I think you would find that you will learn a lot, but have fun at the same time!

  • phonics

Hello to Students! I am an elementary school teacher, and have worked with students your age for a long time. I have taught Grades K - Grade 6 (reading, writing, spelling, music, art, geography, language arts, and lots and lots of PHONICS!! Reading is SO important, and you have to have ways to learn new words when you come to them in a story. Otherwise, you miss part of the meaning of the story. I love to teach phonics and to watch students learn new words, and there are many ways to teach phonics to make it fun. I went to college in Goshen, Indiana to learn to become a teacher so I could help students just like you. I am a fun teacher, but I make sure you learn at the same time! I am kind, caring, and love to work with children. I have lived/worked in Libya, Egypt, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Can you find those places on the globe? During that time I visited at least 60 countries, so I have many stories I can tell you that fit right in with your learning! I look forward to being your tutor, and I hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Dianne Stuckey

  • study skills

Dear Students, I went to college so that I could teach students like you! I have taught Grades K - Grade 6 as well as Music and Art. I received my teaching degree at Goshen College in Indiana. Did you know that, even if you are a very smart student, you could have difficulty in school because you don't have good study skills? That means that you don't quite know "how to study". That may sound strange to you, but it is something to learn, just like other subjects, and I would like to help you. I am an interesting and fun teacher, but I do help you learn! That is the most important part of our working together. I lived/worked in Libya, Egypt, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Do you think you can find these places on the globe? During that time I visited at least 60 countries, so I can weave lots of interesting stories into your learning! I look forward to hearing from you so that we can work together! Sincerely, Dianne Stuckey
