About Judith

16 years total homeschooling my 3 children (now grown) definitely qualifies me for tutoring! I would love to tutor you or your children in many different areas.
I am presently a church pianist, having played piano for over 40 years. I have taught beginner piano to students in my home and also at a private school off and on for the last 10 years. I have been playing for a local church for the last 2 years, but have also been a pianist for several churches on the MS Gulf Coast.
I have recently completed an online one-year course in art and also am presently taking private art lessons. While I am not a professional artist, I have painted several murals in a church and daycare center on the MS Gulf Coast. I could assist you or your child in art studies.
I am presently tutoring 4 children (K-2nd) in all subjects, including piano. I taught all 3 of my children to read (and they read well), and I would love the opportunity to assist you or yours also. I am very friendly and patient, and good with people of all ages.

More On Judith's Subjects

piano

I have played piano for 40 years. For the last 10 years I have taught children and adults beginner piano in my home and also at a local academy. Presently I am a church pianist for a local MS Gulf Coast congregation, but over the years I have been the pianist for several other churches. For 5 years in a row I conducted piano recitals at a recital hall in a local music store. At one point I had up to 25 students. I would love to teach you or your child the joys of playing piano.

Bible studies

I have been a Christian since 1976 (33 years)and have been reading the Bible on a daily basis since then. I have been a church member this entire time, and have been active in many church-related activities. Presently I'm a church pianist, but I have also lead many women's Bible study groups, and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School to children. I homeschooled my own three children a total of 16 years combined using a Bible curriculum to enhance their regular academic program. I have read and studied the Bible completely through many times, including background information. I love the Bible and know I could help you understand it, too.

drawing

While drawing has been regarded as a "secondary" art, a means to an end for those who paint, I do not find it to be so. Its' potential is finally now being realized, and drawing is making a comeback! You don't need expensive materials to make a drawing, and as a means of self-expression your work can be quick to complete and easy to correct. I have thoroughly enjoyed drawing while completing a one-year correspondence course in art that included much drawing instruction. I am also presently taking an art class that meets weekly. My instructor gives us much opportunity for drawing practice. I would love to help you explore the world around you for visual inspiration, developing ideas in a sketchbook, and hopefully inspire your practice of drawing.
