My name is Daniel and I am a fourth-year chemistry student at Emory University. I have had experience tutoring students (both at my grade level and below) since middle school and have generally gotten very positive feedback from those that I have tutored. Most of my tutoring experience has been in math (up to and including AP Calculus AB or the college-level equivalent), although I have also tutored quite a bit in chemistry (and I would feel confident tutoring for any middle or high school chemistry class or any college chemistry class up to and including general, organic, analytical, inorganic, and lab classes).
My tutoring style is one that is not only designed to help students memorize facts or formulas and prepare for tests, but one that helps students more fully understand the fundamental concepts of the subject at hand so that they can also learn to help themselves over the long run. I always take the time during my sessions to make sure that the student is developing better understanding and I am always willing to offer plenty of explanation in different ways whenever a student feels confused.
My hours are somewhat flexible; in general I am available any time during the weekends and every day of the week after 4:00 p.m. If these hours do not work for you but you, please do not hesitate to contact me and I should be able to arrange a time with you based on our mutual schedule openings.
