About Stephen

I have done tutoring at the High School and college level for years in Chemistry, Physics and Math, I specialize in Advanced placement assignments and have tutored 9 students that received AP credit in college chemistry and 3 in Physics out of 15 that I tutored regularly. I enjoy helping students learn to problem solve, not just solve a select problem. My teach attitude is to help them find ways to understand Math and science, as long as the student wants to learn it is up to the tutor/teacher to aid that desire by tapping into the students thought methods. I enjoy working with a variety of students and love to see the light go on when they start understanding the though process and the way to attack a problem. I also thrive in tutoring in group settings especially for AP students and find that groups can be very beneficial as a sort of maintenance after students become more confident in their problem solving that has been established through 1 on 1 tutoring.

I have a PhD in Inorganic/Physical Chemistry from the University of Wyoming. I also have post-doctorial fellowships at UC Santa Barbara and Sandia National labs. I have a BA in Chemistry from the University of St Thomas (St Paul, MN).
