I recently earned my Bachelors in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Merced. I believe that my academic credentials and teaching/tutoring experience would be of great value to you in different topics covered under Math, Science, and other standardized tests like SAT,GRE,MCAT and the GMAT.
During my Bachelors, I graduated with honors, and received four scholarships apart from two academic awards for outstanding performances in chemistry. I worked as a tutor for undergraduate students needing help with physics and biology for 7 months. Post my bachelors degree I was also employed as a lecturer at my University for upper division Organic Chemistry courses for one full semester. I thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity which enabled me to hone my communication skills and taught me to multi-task, manage and coordinate a class with a strength nearing one hundred students. As part of my responsibilities, I went over lab protocols and safety guidelines, held office hours for students, proctored and graded all exams and lab reports, and managed the students' grade books. I think my man management and communication skills make me a suitable candidate for this job. Furthermore, having taken standardized tests like the SAT (93 percentile on math section), the MCAT (30) and the GMAT (660) allows me further insight into the pressures that students face while preparing for such exams.
The best way of learning is to teach! That has always been my way of going about studying in a group setting while discussing and debating all the topics to be covered in any approaching exam. It has been during these study groups that I have often been told by friends that my way of explaining difficult concepts and topics on power point slides from class is the exact way they would like to be presented to while being taught the same slides during lecture.
