I am a 52 year old father of 3 grown daughters and grand father to 2 and soon 2 more! I recently took an early out from the Postal Service and am returning to college in March of 09 to finish my counseling and drug/alcohol abuse degrees. I am a veteran of the US Army and have teaching experience as far as training soldiers and teaching the public about the Army as a Recruiter. I have 17 nieces and nephews that I help out with when needed and am active in y church (ST Helen) dayton ohio. I will be getting my certificate from the state of ohio that allows me to tutor and coach/volunteer with children. I am very dedicated in everything I do and follow through on my assignments. I enjoy helping and teaching others things I understand that maybe they don't. I am a highly decorated veteran and have earned several customer service awards at the Post office.   I would like to be certified in this subject because I enjoy helping frame young minds and teaching young ones. as a father of 3 and grand father of two 5 year old boys I help every day in their learning and developement.   Phonics like speaking English is about sounding things out having English as my primary language I feel that having been taught phonics in school and helping my children learn phonics I should be able to tutor others to be able to learn and put together phrases and sound out words to allow them to do so and be understood.

  I am red cross certified as a lifeguard from the boy scouts and have several mile swims under my belt. I consider my self to be a master swimmer and have taught numerous neices nephews and my own children to swim. I am still proficient in swimming nd all aspects of it.
