elementary (k-6th)
As the proud mother of 2 daughters who graduated from high school in the top 5% of their class, I believe I can help elementary school students not only keep up with their reading, writing and math skills, but thrive in school. I spent a great deal of time successfully tutoring my children and several of their classmates when they were in elementary school. My children have gone on to pursue higher educations in law and psychology. I graduated Valedictorian of my class and look forward to teaching and mentoring elementary school children.
I am a patient and caring individual who will give each student the time and individual attention that they need. I am well-versed in phonemic awareness and elementary education math. I am very flexible with my schedule and would be willing to accommodate the needs of both parents and students. I am excited about this chance to make a difference in the academic careers of my students.
ESL/ESOL
I have been tutoring students in grades K-12 for over 15 years. I graduated Valedictorian of my high school class and went on to pursue a BA in psychology from the University of Delaware and a JD from the Villanova University School of Law. I am currently tutoring elementary students in phonemic awareness. This work experience is invaluable as it helps me teach ESL/ESOL to older students and adults.
I have grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation lesson plans for all ages. I provide colorful explanations, examples and exercises with each tutoring session. I readily assess my student's skill level and tailor each meeting to their specific needs. I have games for my younger students and more advanced communicative activities for my older ones. Tutoring ESL/ESOL is a rewarding experience for both the student and teacher.
