I have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Arts in German Literature. I have taken math classes through calculus and differential equations, as well as calculus-based science classes in physics, chemistry, thermodynamics, etc. I have lived two years in Austria (one year in high school and one year in college) and taught college-level beginning and intermediate level German as a Teaching Assistant while I was in graduate school. I was a classroom assistant for the Fall semester of 2007 at Bucharest Christian Academy in Romania, where I helped teach second and third grade math and reading, as well as tutoring individual students in English (native and non-native speakers, second through fourth grades). I am currently a seminary student.
I tend to enjoy the subjects that I teach, and try to help students understand the background and reasoning instead of just memorizing facts--although I recognize that memorization is an important component of most subjects--since I feel this has helped me not only enjoy learning more, but ultimately become more proficient in whatever I'm studying. I'm friendly and funny once they have a chance to get used to me.
